• Cookie consent

  Cookie consent is the visitor’s permission to store or read cookies — and often to run similar tracking — that are not strictly necessary for the service they asked for. Under GDPR and the ePrivacy rules most EU sites follow, that usually means getting a clear choice before marketing, analytics, or profiling tags fire.

• GDPR cookie audit

  A GDPR cookie audit is a structured review of which cookies, pixels, and similar technologies load on your site or app, what they do, who sets them, and whether your legal basis — often consent for non-essential tracking — matches how they actually behave in a real browser session.

• TTDSG

  The TTDSG is Germany’s federal law that, among other topics, regulates access to information stored on a user’s device — including cookies and similar identifiers. It works together with the GDPR: the TTDSG often sets the ground rules for when you need consent before setting non-essential cookies, while GDPR governs how personal data from those technologies is processed.
