Cookiebot alternative for audits, not banners

Cookiebot (Usercentrics) is a consent management platform: it shows a banner and stores visitor choices. CookieComply does not replace that. It scans a live page in Chrome and produces a cookie inventory and GDPR report your legal and marketing teams can act on.

When CookieComply is the better fit

  • You already have a banner (Cookiebot or otherwise) and need proof of what actually loads before and after consent.
  • Legal asked for a current cookie list with purpose, party, and risk — not another CMP sales call.
  • An agency or in-house team audits many sites and needs repeatable reports without deploying scripts on each client.

When you still need Cookiebot (or another CMP)

If visitors never see a consent UI, or choices are not respected by scripts, a CMP remains required. CookieComply helps you find gaps; it does not collect or enforce consent on your live traffic.

How a CookieComply audit works

  • Install the Chrome add-on and open the page under review.
  • Capture cookies as the browser sees them (including before Accept when you need that evidence).
  • Review the classified inventory, risk notes, and draft consent text in your CookieComply account.
